There is another reason that is generally easy to ignore: the water absorption rate of Silver Wave Marble is relatively high. However, since the Silver Wave Marble is a dark stone, it is difficult for us to notice the change in the color of the stone after absorbing water. And we generally judge the water absorption rate of the stone by the color change after the stone absorbs water – this fixed psychological impression makes us often ignore the high water absorption rate of the ancient wood grain.
The high water absorption rate will cause a part of the material to be adsorbed in the micropores on the surface of the stone during crystallization and polishing, and the crystallization cannot be completed. Greatly reduces the effect of crystallization and gloss.
Because of it texture of wood marble, Silver Wave Marble generally only can reach about 45~55 degrees gloss which is much lower than other marble materials. But it was solved well by the manufacturer. The factory’s solution is to use stone wax to fill in the polishing to increase the gloss to 70 ~ 80 degrees by advanced processing.
